Exclamation 922 Remote Viewing in HD Mode (TV2)

Most of them time I watch DishNetwork remotely via web access, I remember very much a few month before after connected user can watch, GOOD, BETTER and HD mode

But now web watch is limited GOOD (320x240) and BETTER (640x480) mode the other is Auto which again show resolution at (320x240). I upgraded my Broadband for higher upload to 7 mbps for 922 slinging but same result that all HD channel appears in remote viewing in SD mode.

It seems that software version has limited the remote viewing in SD mode. Please inform, how users can watch HD mode.

DishNetwork also going to launch Sling extender which support Multi-format video output support (720x480i 60Hz, 720x480p 60hz, 1280x720p 60Hz, 1920x1080i 60Hz, 1920x1080p 24Hz). Again after purchasing this hardware will be limited ti SD mode?

Are you going in via DISHONLINE.COM or DISHNETWORK.COM via DISH Remote Access?

Hmm let me check my 922, I watched it the other day in HD on DISHNETWORK.COM... (However noticed that DISHONLINE.COM does not support HD playback from the 922 yet.)

Got to be honest, I can't get into my 922 now, its stuck on Authenticating when I try watching anything via the Sling.

I wish DISH would let us use the Stand Alone Slingplayer with our 922's!

The only way to check whether in HD mode via Dishnetwork.com, start viewing and use Ctrl + Left Click to see Video with and height. I tried to use via Slingplayer supported version is 2.0.3.508 which I agree with you works very good, but at the same SD (640x480). But picture quality is much better then web interface of Dishnetwork and my bit rate was 1800 kbps.

I, on few occasion spoke to Tech. Support for the support SlingPlayer, but some business decision has distanced them from such nice player. I even have Slingcatcher too, but does not recognize the VIP 922.

As going through Dishnetwork site, new product due to be launched Sling extender and it pity to know that it is limited to home network only.

How good is this new product Sling extender at least should be able to be used for remote viewing too and the can be connected to HD. TV.

Slingplayer is software, all old slingbox linup can be watched with the Slingplayer. Vip 922 can be watched only with old version 2.0.3508 SlingPlayer - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com. I recommend user to use Slingplayer, the picture quality is awesome although the output video stream from 922 is SD (480i) aspect ratio of 4:3. If PC is connected with sound processor and TV via HDMI, you can get almost Dolby 5.1 sound effect and very good picture quality.

New version of Slingpalyer 2.0.4.521 is not compatible with 922.
