I believe that Dish Network has an IR to UHF upgrade kit, that would probably be your best option. But I'm not sure, I remember seeing a manual for one but I don't know if it's compatible with the 211K. I'm assuming it is, so you may wanna give Dish a call and see about ordering one. The kit, from what I remember, came with an IR extender clip, converter for UHF, UHF antenna and a UHF remote or something like that.

Here is another from Solid Signal. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee compatibility with the ViP 211K. Purchase at your own risk, and hope there is a decent enough return policy (alternatively, Ebay or Craigslist also works). Not sure why we stopped offering this, but you'll have that.

Cypresstree, I checked at work today and was told that we do still offer the IR to UHF upgrade kit. You should also be able to order it online at dishnetwork.com after logging in. But as long as this takes care of your problem, does it really matter who you ordered it from? (Seeing as you already purchased the kit).
